Health Check

Health Check is a program for children ages birth through twenty. Wyoming Medicaid will pay for all Health Check screening exams and for all authorized follow-up care and treatment as long as your child is receiving Medicaid and is age birth through twenty (20) years.

Children’s Mental Health Waiver
The Children’s Mental Health Waiver, part of Wyoming Medicaid, seeks to prevent custody relinquishment for youth to receive mental health treatment; prevent or reduce the length of costly psychiatric hospital stays; and provide a mechanism to offer mental health support services to youth with serious emotional disturbance and their families in identified service areas. The Children’s Mental Health Waiver is not a long-term care waiver.

Public Health Nursing
Public Health Nursing (PHN) offices are located throughout the counties in Wyoming, and provide direct services in the areas of communicable disease, disease and injury prevention, emergency preparedness, health promotion, maternal and child health, and pre-admission screening for nursing home placement. PHN serves as the local service provider for many departmental programs including immunizations, Maternal and Family Health, and Nurse Family Partnerships.

Safe Kids Wyoming
Safe Kids Wyoming is led by Wyoming Department of Health/Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, which provides dedicated and caring staff, operation support and other resources to assist in achieving our common goal: keeping your kids safe. Based on the needs of the community, this coalition implements evidence-based programs, such as car-seat checkups, safety workshops and sports clinics, that help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.

Wyoming 2-1-1 is a non-profit organization that connects callers to information regarding critical health and human services available in Wyoming communities at no cost to the caller. Wyoming Early Childhood State Advisory Council
Established in 1997, the council consists of appointed members from the state’s private and public organizations. The Governor’s Early Childhood State Advisory Council published the Early Learning Foundations for Children Ages 3-5 and Early Learning Guidelines for Children Ages 0-3 to help professionals, parents and providers track the growth and development of Wyoming’s children.
