Wyoming Medicaid

Medicaid helps pay for healthcare services for children, pregnant women, families with children, and qualified individuals.

There are many ways to apply:

WY MEDICAID INFORMATION

Kid Care CHIP

Kid Care CHIP provides affordable health coverage including check-ups, dentist visits, vision care, prescriptions, and more for Wyoming kids and teens. Eligible children:

Are Wyoming residents
Are US citizens or lawful, permanent residents
Have not had their 19th birthday
Have not had insurance for the past 30+ days
Meet income guidelines

KID CARE CHIP INFORMATION

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP)

SNAP provides monthly benefits that help low-income households buy the food they need for good health. For most families, SNAP funds cover a portion of their monthly food budget, and additional funds are used to buy enough food to last through the month.

How it Works:

SNAP sends a special debit card with money on it to help families buy food
Money is added to the card by SNAP every month
The card can be used at most grocery stores, Walmart, Amazon, and some meal delivery services like Meals on Wheels

WYOMING SNAP INFORMATION

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

WIC is a special supplemental nutrition program that focuses on the link between good nutrition and good health. WIC can help:

Families with children up to age 5
Pregnant women
New moms
Infants

WIC provides families with:

Healthy food
Nutrition education
Breastfeeding education and support
Medical and community referrals

CHILD CARE MAP

License-exempt Child Care

Some child care facilities in Wyoming are license-exempt (they don’t require providers to be licensed) because they meet these exemptions:

They are caring for two or fewer children they are not related to
They occasionally care for the child of a neighbor or friend
Parents are exchanging care
They are coming to the family’s home to provide care
Their facility is supervised by the state, local government, or school district

Child Care Financial Assistance

The Department of Family Services’ Child Care Subsidy Program helps families pay for the cost of care while the parents are involved in activities such as searching for employment, working, in school, or in training.

Families are free to choose a child care arrangement that best fits their needs, as long as the selected provider meets health and safety standards.

Wyoming Early Intervention Centers

Child Development Centers across the state provide free early childhood developmental screenings and developmental services for children ages birth through five.

Screenings include:

Hearing & Vision
Thinking & Reasoning Skills
Communication Skills
Physical Movement Skills

Developmental services include:

Diagnostic evaluation
Physical therapy
Occupational therapy
Speech therapy
Mental health services
Audiology
Family service coordination
