When they feel comfortable and safe in their environment, kids develop the confidence to explore the world around them, and the confidence to try new things.
As kids continue to feel curious, there’s a sense that something new and interesting is always around the corner, which leads to continual exploring, learning, and engaging in their world.
This also leads to problem solving skills. A curious kid will discover how things work, and figure out solutions to challenges in their everyday life.
Curiosity is learning.
It’s a process of seeking and understanding. Encouraging curiosity in your kids while they are young will set them up for a life of learning – and fun! Try these three simple things:
- Ask them questions, listen, and answer their questions
- Read together as much as you can
- Play outside
