Birth-6 Months
- Communicates hunger, fear, and discomfort by crying
- Learns to recognize voices and faces of care givers
- Tracks objects with their eyes
6-12 Months
- Feeds self a snack, like cereal Os, cubed fruit, and small veggies
- Plays alone for 10 minutes
- Holds a spoon or a toothbrush and imitates parents/siblings
12-18 Months
- Likes being offered a choice, such as snacks or clothing items
- Knows where their shoes go and tries to put them on
- Explores how to brush their hair
18-24 Months
- Puts trash in the waste bin
- Knows where familiar items are kept
- Washes their hands
2-3 Years
- Opens a door by turning the handle
- Uses some snaps, zippers, and large buttons
- Expresses a wide range of emotions
